I live abroad, can I still take a course?

Our online courses can be done anywhere in the world, anytime of the day providing you have access to a PC and/or device and an internet connection.

If a course duration is 2 years OR 12 months, does this mean it will take me that long to finish the course?

No. This just means we give you that long to finish the course. Because most of our courses are self-paced, you can finish them a lot sooner. Sometimes even in a quarter of the time.

I notice you have some older courses on your website, but you advertise the fact that you regularly update your course material. Why is this?

The answer is very simple… there are people that still want to learn about older technologies (known as ‘legacy systems), concepts and methodologies. Why?  Well as an example their company may be still be using these older technologies and methodologies. A good example of this is the Windows 7 operating system. Many companies are still using this despite the upgrades. IT personnel that are unfamiliar with this operating system may require training in the software to manage it across the company.

How does 24/7 Online Tutoring work?

The 24/7 online tutor service is only available on selected courses. Mainly our course bundles and IT courses. It works the same way as a chat window. If you have a question about your course or a specific topic, you just type in question, and you’ll get a response from an expert.

Can I try a demo of the course I’m interested in?

What happens after I purchase a course? How do I get started?

Once you purchase an online course, we will contact you within one business day to provide you with login info to access your course materials online. We usually send out login codes within 60 minutes after you have enrolled for an online course. If you have not received your login information within 24 hours, please check your email’s spam folder to make sure it didn’t end up there. You are also welcome to contact us anytime if your login information has not arrived within this time frame.

Login access is 24/7, and you can access training courses from any computer, laptop, or mobile device as long as you have an internet connection. This allows you to fit learning into your schedule anytime, anywhere.

How long do your courses normally take to complete?

Our online courses are self-paced, so it can take as little or as much time as you like. You’ll enjoy 12 months of access to most of our online courses, but some of our courses take as little as a few days or a few weeks to complete.

How long do I get access to my course materials?

For most courses, you’ll get 12 months of access to live online classes with experienced tutors. This access is available even after you’ve completed your course or certification.

Are your instructors qualified?

We only work with expert instructors who are highly qualified and experienced. For instance, our IT instructors have a minimum of 15 years real-world experience and are subject matter experts in their fields.

What are Live Labs?

Live Labs are in essence simulators for IT learners. They allow an individual to apply their course skills in a software environment that is not harmful to others or equipment. As an example, a learner can configure a network and setup a firewall within such an environment. Live Labs not only provide learners with valued experience, but help to better prepare them for their final exams. All Live Labs come with instructions and tasks. These tasks are related to the material covered in a course. For instance, if a learner undertakes a networking course, s/he will be required to undertake networking related tasks in his or her Live Lab.

Exams

Are exam fees included in the cost of the course?

For most courses, exam fees are separate. However, we do offer Pro Packs which include all exam fees and any relevant Live Labs. Pro Pack courses include Cisco certifications, CompTIA certifications, Six Sigma, IT Support, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Windows Server 2012.

How do online exams work?

You will be required to setup a webcam in your home or office in a closed space. You will have a set amount of time to do the exam. Once you start, you will be monitored by an examination proctor who will observe you over your web camera to ensure you are not using any devices or other methods to cheat. Once you start, you cannot start over again. Your exam answers will be submitted at the end of the test and you may be allowed to receive your results instantly depending on the exam, test center and proctor.

I live abroad. Where do I sit my exams?

There are normally testing centers located throughout the world. We can help you locate your nearest testing center. Alternatively your course may allow you to sit your exam online in your own home. If would like to enquire about how and where your exams will be sat before starting your course, just send us an email to support@redbridgecourses.com.

If I fail an exam, can I resit it again?

Yes. In most cases it’s just a simple case of booking a new date and time. You will have to pay for the exam resit however. It should be noted that you cannot normally resit the same exam on the same day you failed. You will normally have to wait between 1-7 days to rebook your exam.

How much do exams normally cost?

Prices depend on the certification. Here are a few average prices:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist: Normally around £65-£95
  • Microsoft IT Specialist: Microsoft exams are normally £99, excluding Microsoft Office exams.
  • CompTIA: Normally around £116-£235
  • Cisco: Normally around £100-£170

How do I get my certificate once I’ve completed my course?

If you have sat an exam and passed, this will normally be posted to you within several weeks. If you are doing a short course, you might be allowed to print out your certificate of completion after you’ve finished your course. Vendor certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) may take longer to arrive.

Are the certifications from your courses recognised by employers?

Yes. All certifications gain from our certification courses are globally recognised. We do not award the certifications upon completion of our courses and the passing of your examination. This is done by the actual vendor. For instance, if you complete a Microsoft certification course, Microsoft awards your certification. If you complete a Cisco certification course, Cisco awards your certification… and so on.

There are a small number of non-certification courses we offer that do not lead to a certification however. These are mainly skills based courses only. Please check with us before purchasing your course if you would like us to confirm the certification status of your course.

Can I pay for my course in installments?

Yes! We offer easy monthly installment plans for most courses. Depending on the course, you can spread the cost of your course over a 1-6 month period, interest free. No credit checks or credit agreement required.

  • Bundles: For our Certification Bundles and Soft Skills Bundles, you can pay in three monthly installments.
  • Pro Packs: Course fees on our Pro Packs can be spread over 3-6 months, however you will not be able to sit your exams until your full balance is paid.

Are there assessments part way through the year to determine whether staff are doing well?

You can monitor your performance through the internal scoring on the Learning Management System (LMS). There are tests and coursework throughout the course that will allow you to grade your level of knowledge at certain points. There is also a final assessment (i.e. mock test).
